Job Summary (Optional) The role to execute sourcing project, project management, day-to-day problem solving to sustain business continuity as well as continuous improvement activities for sourcing project.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities (7 ±2 items) The project engineer’s first and most important requirement is to flawless execute the transfer projects to meet quality, regulatory and timing requirement. He needs to understand the importance of quality and regulatory compliance in medical device industry. Quality is always No. 1 priority. Business goal can only be achieved only if parts are delivered with acceptable quality and on time. Communication skills will be very important. The role of project engineer will have lots of interfaces with different Zimmer Biomet Business Units in US and Europe as well as external suppliers. He/She needs to ensure all technical information and other requirements have been correctly understood by suppliers and ensure complete transfer of process according to Zimmer Biomet transfer procedure and SPPA (PPAP). The sourcing project engineer must manage the business relationship of Zimmer Biomet SBU and supplier. In order to have a long term partnership with our suppliers, day-to-day on time problem solving is very important to keep business relationship sustainable. Day to day duties: · Perform RFQ according to Zimmer Biomet global procedure, keep documents complete. · Ensure technical/quality requirement understood by suppliers through Communication with Zimmer Biomet sending sites · Ensure Raw material, tooling, suppliers gages, Biomet custom gages, inspection plans are in place to launch transfer projects on time · Execute transfer plans on time · Work with suppliers on Continuous Improvements with SPC and 6 Sigma methodology to analyze/improve suppliers’ manufacturing process capability · Develop and execute supplier on-site quality inspection plan by collaborating with SQE team to ensure all product conforming to Specification and other pre-determined quality requirements. · Generate monthly supplier KPI report and define/execute continuous quality improvement plan · Participate Quality Audits with SQE team for Asia suppliers · Dealing with customer complaints, Initiate & track corrective actions, analyze potential quality/regulatory issues and take preventative action.

Degree in Engineering or equivalent · Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management/SQE/SDE in manufacturing/engineering environment of MNC · Sense of urgency and responsibilities. · Strong problem solving skill, familiar with APQP, PPAP, SPC, PFMEA, Control plan, … · Familiar with CMM, comparator, digital caliper, micrometer and other basic measuring instruments. · Familiar with ISO 13485 or TS16949 quality system is a plus · Work independently and self-disciplined · High level of attention to detail. · Good oral and written English communication skills · Frequent travel is required
