Responsibilities:
• Applies engineering disciplines to support design, development, implementation and operation activities.
• Responsible for evaluating and improving the company’s current process for product development and testing product quality.
• Participate in Quality Assurance meeting, detailing the expected level of requirements, time required and consistently meet the allocated milestones.
• Identify and draw inspection, test criteria, standards and qualification requirements.
• Translate customer requirements into process control, inspection and test criteria.
• Experience in evaluating products to determine if components & product are acceptable for approval.
o Must have the strength to speak out when product/component is unacceptable.
o Must be willing to advise justification for rejection.
• Identify, diagnose, report and assist engineers and project managers in resolving issues.
• Assess vendor’s inspection/metrology & be capable of providing training to improve.
• Assist vendor in development of their capabilities & understanding of requirements.
• Must be pro-active in working with the team in developing the supply base & improving the quality systems within the factories.

Qualifications:
Education: Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.
Quality Engineer certification a plus.
ASQ certification a plus.
Lean manufacturing experience & six sigma background.
Experience: 3 – 5 years quality experience (Quality Engineer, Supplier Quality Engineer, or Mechanical Engineer). Ideal candidate will have quality and manufacturing experience.
Skills: Mechanical background in consumer products.
Technical understanding of forging, zinc & aluminum die-casting, plastic injection molding, metal fabrication/stamping, finish evaluations (painting & plating).
Quality tools experience (FMEA, Gauge R&R, SPC, CpK analysis, CAR, & throughput yield for lean manufacturing).
ISO 9000 / TS-16949 Lead Auditor certification is beneficial.
Six Sigma experience is a plus.
Good English skills.
