Sourcing Manager

(Location: Suzhou)

The position is responsible for developing and executing strategy for assigned commodities to support the business growth in terms of cost, quality, delivery and service reporting to Global Supply Chain Manager.

Key Responsibilities

·       Learn the ITW Toolbox. This is company specific and centers around lean manufacturing concepts and the 80/20 philosophy.

·       Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans for assigned commodities.

·       Assume primary responsibility for identification, approval, development, and management of all suppliers of assigned commodities.

·       Negotiate contracts with critical suppliers that meet our quality control requirements.

·       Assure continuity of supply for all assigned commodities.

·       Work with the production and quality team to assure acceptable levels of quality, delivery and services and establish a supplier scorecard system that will reward those that score high, as well as finding alternate suppliers for those that score low.

·       Support New Product Development (NPD) to achieve agreed performance on cost, quality and schedule, assure the sourcing strategies are implemented during development phase.

·       Drive the cost reduction to achieve the material margin targets.

·       Provide regular updates on actual material cost based on Build Of Materials (BOM)

·       Support finance on setting the annual standard cost for BOM’s.  The new standards are used at the beginning of each calendar year and are not revised for the 12 months.

·       Work with the strategic sourcing team from ITW and sister companies to leverage opportunities.

Requirements

·       Bachelor degree in Engineering or a relevant field.

·       8+ years’ experience managing technical commodities such as machining, castings, electrical or electronic parts etc.

·       Work experience in a multinational company (MNC)

·       Demonstrated ability to develop and execute a commodity strategy.

·       Communication and interpersonal skills.

·       CPSM preferred.

·       Experience with MfgPro (QAD) system is a plus.
